On 27 June 2017, Clive Elliott QC will present a webinar, discussing the general legal landscape in New Zealand, but with a comparative IP focus. In doing so, he will review the New Zealand legal system, its hierarchy and key features and compare them broadly with Australia. This will include a discussion of the hierarchy of tribunals and courts, the appellate structure and the broad legislative framework in which IP operates. He will also discuss some of the areas of marked difference between New Zealand and Australia, including the Maori advisory committees and the copyright/design overlap.
The emphasis will be on practical issues likely to impact on busy attorneys’ day today lives and Clive hopes to be able to pass on some useful take-home tips.
