On 23 May 2017 Andrew Christie will provide an update, see below.
The Trans-Tasman IP Attorneys Board is undertaking a review of the Code of Conduct. Last month the Board issued a Consultation Paper containing proposals for amendment of the Code, submissions on which are sought by 3 June. The key proposals are to elaborate the professional conduct standards and to enhance the obligations on attorneys relating to conflicts of interest (the latter in response to the public listing of groups of attorney firms).
The Board has engaged Professor Andrew Christie to assist it with the review. In this webinar Andrew will discuss the background to the review, explain the concerns about conflicts of interest and the publicly listed groups, and elaborate the Board’s proposals for amendment of the Code in relation to both conflicts of interest and professional conduct standards.
